Hand that formed the earth's array,
By whose touch the worlds were made,
Motioning the scepter's sway,
Now in mother's palm is layed.
Head that bore a kingly crown,
Gleaming brighter than midday,
Causing angels to bow down,
Nestles, now, among the hay.
Voice that rang with royal sound,
Issuing the hosts on high,
Voice that never equal found,
Now is a weak baby's cry.
Heart that loved each one on Earth,
From its width throughout its length,
Now, although of human birth,
Loves with all its former strength.

Petra! (Note: this comment has nothing to do with the poem, beautiful though it was) Do you remember me? I'm trying to think of something to say that will nudge the dendrites of your memory. Hmm, well, My brother and I used to come to your house and play our instruments with you, your dad, and Martina. This was in Frederick. I think I hung out more with Martina though. We had lots of fun making music together :) oh, maybe my name would help: Christy Joy Kurtz. Anyway, Just thought I would say hi :) I found you through Barry Howe, who I go to school with. I've enjoyed reading your blog. WEll, I think that I'm going to go leave a similar comment on Martina's blog so I'll ttyl. God Bless, Christy
Petra:
What a lovely poem...
Did you compose it?
Isn't it a bit too early to start talking about Christmas?
Christy:
Are you related to Joel Kurtz? He's another of Barry's friends from school. I've enjoyed Joel's blog...
Christy: Hey! How great to hear from you! I didn't realize that you were studying at Southern this year. I sure do remember you, and all of the fun we used to have together playing music. Are you playing in the Orchestra at Southern?
Paul: What blasphemy! It's NEVER too early for Christmas. And yes, I did indeed compose the poem myself.
Pet, I love your poems! I knew you would be a famous poet some day, then I can say "I am the sister of Petra Howe". Ever since that poem about the silk skirt Confederate balloon, I was positive poetry was your forte! Keep it up!
Touching, thought provoking... thank you :)
By the way I'm Caitlin, another crazy southern person, I blog hopped to your blog awhile ago :O but I don't think I've left a comment until now... but I really appreciate your thoughts!
